Completing Assessments

Assessments are a key part of your role as a preceptor, allowing you to provide structured feedback on student performance throughout their rotations.

The Preceptor Portal provides multiple types of assessments to support ongoing evaluation, each designed for a specific stage or purpose during the rotation.


Types of Assessments

You may be required to complete the following assessment types:

  • Weekly Assessments
    Provide regular, ongoing feedback based on student performance and recent clinical interactions.
  • Ad-Hoc Assessments
    Completed in response to student requests, often linked to specific clinical encounters or patient logs.

Accessing Assessments

You can access assessments in several ways:

From the Navigation Menu

  1. Click Assessments in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select one of the following options:
    • Weekly Assessments
    • Ad-Hoc Assessments

Completing an Assessment

When completing an assessment, you will typically:

  1. Open the assessment from your task list or student view
  2. Review any relevant information (such as patient logs or recent activity)
  3. Provide ratings and written feedback
  4. Submit the assessment

Once submitted, the assessment will be recorded and made available for review.


Assessment Status

Each assessment includes a status to help track progress:

  • Pending – Not yet started
  • In Progress – Started but not submitted
  • Completed – Submitted and finalized
